Bitcoin and ether ETF inflows soared on one of the biggest days in the BTC's history.

The decentralized finance (DeFi) sector will experience an ecosystem boost after a spot ether {{ETH}} exchange-traded fund (ETF) was approved in the U.S. on Thursday, according to Mike Silagadze, CEO of ETH restaking protocol Ether.fi.

Prospective providers of spot ether ETFs in the U.S. removed the provisions for staking from their applications to avoid potential regulatory roadblocks.

The bank reiterated its year-end bitcoin and ether targets of $150,000 and $8,000, respectively.

The Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) on Thursday approved 19b-4 forms filed by issuers looking to launch a spot ether exchange-traded fund (ETF), marking a key step forward in bringing the fund on the market.

BlackRock and other funds have collected billions of dollars worth of inflows for their Ethereum products. Massive outflows from the Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE) have overshadowed that, though.

Following their listing, ether ETFs did not enjoy the same response as their bitcoin equivalents had done in January.

Bitcoin ETFs enjoyed their highest net inflows since Sept. 27, with FBTC and IBIT leading the way.
